"Nothing is Impossible with God" Luke 1:37

Many of you have not heard from us in a long time primarily due to how well Grace has been doing and how busy life has become.  Grace has blossomed under the care of her loving 2nd grade teacher this year and has come out of her shell to make numerous friends.  It has been a joy to watch her be so full of life, running up and down the street, and playing with her friends.  Sadly, though, her health began to decline in December 2008 and has steadily declined since.  After several months of visiting with her doctors and evaluating her condition, it has been recommended that Grace have surgery again to release her tethered spinal cord.
This surgery has been scheduled for Friday, May 8th at 7:30am at Children's Medical Center.  We have been told that this will be the hardest surgery to date that she will face; to expect an all day surgery, that she will miss the rest of the school year, and that she will be recovering for many, many weeks afterwards.  Beyond that... we are not sure of what to expect...yet we remain hopeful.  While we are very sad that Grace must go through this again, we are very hopeful that she will experience relief from all of the pain that she has been suffering through and will eventually have a better quality of life.
As next Friday gets closer, we will post specific prayer needs but for now we would love for each of you to begin to pray for the following:
1.  Dr. Swift (Grace's neurosurgeon) and the whole medical team that will be working with Grace as they prepare to operate.
2.  Grace as she closes out her last week of school, that she will build some lasting and joyful memories!
3.  rest for all of us before our time at the hospital
4.  that God would be glorified through all of this!

Thank you for your prayers,
Carrie and Kevin
